This week: Hartman’s First EKG Textbook
EKG technicians are employed in many different medical settings, from doctor’s offices to emergency rooms. We’ve been asked throughout the years if we would consider publishing an EKG technician training textbook. Most of the books used to teach EKG administration are written in a very technical manner and focus on EKG interpretation or foundational skills for physicians or specialists. Not everyone who trains as an EKG technician has the need for these high-level, often very expensive textbooks. So we published a new book, that will be in stock by the end of March, called Hartman’s Complete Guide for the EKG Technician.
The book is only 10 chapters and focuses entirely on the skills an EKG technician needs, starting from basic anatomy and physiology, infection prevention, and interpersonal skills, all the way through EKG machine troubleshooting, basic interpretation, and emergency protocols. The topics are covered in our signature easy-to-understand style and uncluttered layout. We’ve kept the price low ($20.00 or less for two or more copies) and all instructor resources will be available as convenient downloads. We’ve added modern photographs of common equipment, detailed custom illustrations, and tons of actual EKG strips for demonstration and practice. This textbook will prepare students for a certification exam and to work in a setting where administering an EKG is a primary task.
If you have an EKG program at your facility, contact your sales representative today for information on obtaining a sample.
While not every comment or critique will result in a change, we always welcome your words, questions and feedback. You help make our products the best they can be and we’re always ready to listen. Go ahead: Be heard at Hartman!
