Heard at Hartman 07/01/2019

“Heard at Hartman” is our ongoing blog feature where we share updates on customer requests and feedback that have resulted in changes, special products, or corrections to our existing materials.

Special requests are our specialty.

If you’re using our materials and you would like to have a document in a different format or additional test questions for a topic, or if you have suggestions for a new resource or handout, talk to your sales rep. The following are some special request we’ve been able to accommodate over the last few weeks, direct from our sales team!

From Carol Castillo: “On 05/20/19 a prospective customer asked for a crosswalk in Word so she could add her course information to it, and the managing editor granted my request in less than one business day. Very grateful and she adopted the book three weeks later!”

From Erika Walker: A customer contacted us to ask permission to photocopy an instructor’s guide. Previously, copying instructor’s guides was limited to certain sections in the appendix; handouts, transparency masters, and tests. When an instructor at a community college requested to be able to copy the lesson plans as well for instructors on their large staff, the publisher and managing editor changed the copyright language on all of our instructor’s guides to include the following: “If every student in your course has a purchased textbook, and we are able to verify your purchases of Hartman books, you are free to make as many copies as you need of the instructor’s guide for use at your facility, school, or agency, as well as to modify items to suit your teaching needs.”* Erika reported that the instructor who originated the question admitted to doing a “happy dance” about the decision.

While not every comment or critique will result in a change, we always welcome your words, questions and feedback. You help make our products the best they can be and we’re always ready to listen. Go ahead: Be heard at Hartman!

* Please note this is limited to physical hard copies of the instructor’s guide. Posting or uploading of Hartman Publishing’s material to a public website is expressly prohibited. Please contact your sales representative with any questions about electronic usage.
