November is National Home Care & Hospice Month. In addition, Home Care Aide Week takes place the second full week of November. A career in home healthcare can afford more independence and flexibility to employees than traditional residential care facilities. Home health aides enjoy building relationships with clients in their homes, as well as their families and communities, all while providing vital care services.
According to the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (nahc.org), approximately 12 million people in the US require some form of home health care. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics 2018 Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) estimates that there are currently over three million home health and personal care aides employed today and projects growth at a rate of 36%, adding over one million home healthcare jobs over the next ten years.
